"There is a longing within you which is not just your own but it is a longing that has always warmed the heart of the clay.

About me

Robin Ewing holds a B.A. in Studio Arts from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, where she studied a broad range of art disciplines including sculpture, ceramics, photography, neon and printmaking.

Ewing believes that every person is an artist and she loves to share her passion for art by teaching and connecting people to their own inner artist. Robin’s work combines clay, glass and printmaking techniques to explore the intersection between technology and the natural world.

When Robin isn’t covered in clay in the studio, you can usually find her out in nature hiking, backpacking and hunting for Bigfoot.
Artist Statement
My work explores liminal states between humans and technology. As we embrace technology and more aspects of our lives become automated, we lose the knowledge and ability of how to do things for ourselves.
What are the hidden costs of technology? Does our dependence on it affect our knowing? Our intuition? Our memory?
How is technology affecting our brains, our cognition, and our perception? What are the implications for the future of human evolution as the lines between human and machine become blurred?
